What are gluten free events?

If you are recently diagnosed, then attending a gluten-free event is extremely beneficial. At gluten-free events, you can do things such as learn how to cook with mixes, speak to a qualified dietitian and meet with fellow coeliacs. The activites at events can vary, see our guide below but usually they will involve trying new foods and getting tips on gluten free cooking.

Have a browse here and see if there are any events coming up in your area!

Cookery demonstrations

Cookery demonstrations are one of the most popular types of events. Demonstrations can be tailored depending on the type of product the audience would most like to see. We have seven home economists based throughout the country. During a cookery demonstration the home economist will be staged in front of a cooking unit where they can demonstrate anything from how to make pastry, cakes and pasta or even how to do something different with a biscuit or loaf of bread. Audience attendance can be anything from 40 to 200 people.

If you are interested in holding a cookery demonstration with your local coeliac group please contact glutenfree@glutafin.co.uk.

Clinics

Clinics are usually held by dietitians in hospitals. Glutafin ambassadors attend these on a regular basis, where they will provide you with samples try on the day along with a goody bag of Glutafin products to take home and enjoy. This is also a great opportunity to discuss any questions you may have or even if you are just after some advice as many of our ambassadors are also diagnosed coeliacs themselves. If you would like to find out more about your local coeliac clinics you can contact glutenfree@glutafin.co.uk.

Food Fairs

Food fairs are large events organised by the local Coeliac UK group organisers. A number of gluten free manufacturers will be present and you will have the opportunity to sample their produce and also to make some purchases sometimes at special discount prices. If you are holding a gluten free food fair please get in touch glutenfree@glutafin.co.uk
